What are some interesting discoveries that you had about assessment this quarter? I learned a ton this quarter from all of my courses but this course especially. I did not know a ton before this class when it comes to assessment but I feel like I have grown a ton within my knowledge of assessments. Before this course I just always thought about assessments being multiple choice and not that hard to come up with but I was definitely wrong. Now that I have taken this class I learned how hard it really is to come up with assessments and everything that goes into creating an assessment for my students. I struggled quite a bit when it came to creating our different types of assessments but I learned a ton through the struggle. I now know a lot more about what goes into creating assessments as well as all of the benefits of assessment. Especially as an educator there are a ton of different benefits that come along with assessments, it can help you learn a ton about your students...

Consider how things are going in your placement, how you are growing as an educator, and/or what you still need to work towards as you continue your growth as an educator. I am not currently placed but I am working on getting placed somewhere closer to home on the west side of washington, I am hoping for the best that we will get to go into the classroom sometime soon and everything will work out with getting me placed over here. I feel like I am growing as an educator is so many ways every single week, in all of my classes I am either introduced to a new area od teaching or I am learning skills to deepen my undertstanding of subjects we have been learning about. I belive there are still many different things that I can work on to continue growing as an educator. My main points of focus for things to work on would be my lesson plans, espically the detials in the lesson plans and how to make my lessons all different and interesting for my students. I am excited to contine to learnin...

Consider how things are going in your placement, how you are growing as an educator, and/or what you still need to work towards as you continue your growth as an educator. So far in this education program I feel like I am learning new ideas and strategies every day that I am working on my school work and I am continuing to grow with every unit that I am doing. I have gained a ton of knowledge this quarter so far on assessments, lesson plans, rubrics, strategies for teachign read and writing, ways to teach social studies and how to amke my lessons engaging for my students across all areas of study. There are still a lot of things that I need to work on to be the best educator that I can, I want to learn and grow more with my assessments for my students and perfect creating lesson plans and activities to keep my stduents engaged and just learn more and gain more knowledge before going into the education field. I am also really looking forward to hopefully being placed soon as we a...

Which kind of assessment was the most difficult to create and why? In my opinion the hardest assessment for me to create was either the selected response or the performance assessment. The selected response was difficult for me because I was trying to come up with enough multiple choice questions, true false questions and matching without having the questions overlap. The performance task was a little difficult for me as well because it was difficult for me to come up with a performance task for a lesson on character descriptions, setting and plot. Which one was the easiest and why? I personally thought that the easiest assessment was the written response just because I had my students just write a descriptive piece and I thought it was a little bit easier to come up with an assessment when it comes to writing cause you can pretty much have your students write about anything. What was something that surprised you about creating assessments? One thing that really surpr...

What growth did you experience as a future teacher this week? This week as a future teacher I experienced a lot of growth with the material that we were given in this course specifically. Going through the lecture for this unit I learned a lot about assessments that I was not aware of before. I learned about the different types of assessments as well as informal anf formal examples of both. These examples and having this knowledge will help me immensily as a future teacher. What challenges are you facing in your growth as a future teacher? As a future teacher some challenges i am currently facing would be around online learning. All of my professors are doing a great job with the online format but it still is not the same as being in the classroom. I definatly miss being in person and being able to collabaorte with my peers more and do more hands on learning. I am also sad that we are not placed into classrooms right now but am hopeful we will get there soon!

I believe that my understanding of assessment is growing more and more every week in this course. Before this class I did not know much about assessments, I knew there were assessments such as the SAT, WASAL and then in class assessments but I did not know very much more than that. Throughout the past few weeks I have learned what makes an assessment validity, reliability and biases in assessments. This week specifically made me think back to assessments that I have had during my schooling and what some of my teachers did that ended up making those assessments invalid and biased. I have also learned a lot about how to give assessments and what types of information should be included throughout my different classroom assessments. The information that I have learned about assessment so far is going to be incredibly helpful as a future educator. Assessments are a big part of teaching and I am going to need to know what I should or should not do in terms of assessment to mak...

I personally feel like I grew as a teacher a ton this week, even though there were not a lot of assignments this week I felt like I learned a ton about lesson plans and what to do to create a successful one. Before looking into the module I was very stressed out and intimidated when I thought about writing lesson plans. I had understood a few bits and pieces that we had gone over in other classes but I had not yet wrote out a whole lesson plan. This module helped me understand in a lot more detail what I was supposed to do. The lectures and videos gave a ton of great information that really helped me complete my lesson plan with much less confusion.      One major goal I have when it comes to lesson plans is that by the end of the program I have a much easier time coming up with ide...
